Counselling and Community Support Services - Scarborough

We provide accessible community services to women that meets a diverse set of needs.  The goal is to provide barrier-free counselling to marginalized, transitional, racialized, and formerly incarcerated women.  We offer unique community services in the Scarborough area,  We understand the difficulties working with reintegration of women from prison.  We work with women’s shelters around the Scarborough and Toronto area. Women that are on parole or probation are provided guidance to stabilize their lives.

 

 

Counselling Services

We offer a unique combination of one to one, group, and referral counselling for adults or youth. The team includes psychologists, mental health workers, chaplains, volunteers, and peers.  Psychotherapy and behavioral therapy by a professional can help alleviate many issues.    Please contact us for more information on community and counselling services in the Scarborough area.

Supporting Goals

Women first meet with a counselor  to talk about what their life goals are.  Goals can be very broad, such as:

  • Leaving an abusive partner
  • Reintegrating back into society from prison or halfway houses
  • Seeking financial literacy or job skills
  • Building effective relationships with family members and friends
  • Developing coping skills and personal independence
  • Grief counselling
  • Reducing isolation and building a support network
