Volunteer
Why volunteer?
Volunteering is an excellent way to make a difference in the community, by sharing your time, skills and love; build valuable life skills; gain rewarding sense of accomplishment in your community; advocate and develop plans for long-term positive social changes.
We work internally, connect with other community organizations and refer to external services, as needed. Our volunteers can fulfill community service hours, court mandated hours or just want to help in their community. This opportunity is also suitable for those looking to fulfill school volunteer hour requirements, looking for summer volunteer opportunities or to participate in community outreach.
Volunteer requirements
Volunteers would be required to commit to a minimum of 10 hours a month for a minimum of 4 to 6 months. Prior volunteer experience (although not mandatory) is an asset. Ability to provide 3 reference letters from individuals that are not family related and to undergo police reference check. A police reference check will not be a deterrent to you working with us, however, would be needed to clarify the capacity.
Please fill out the Volunteer Application Form. This application can be submitted through e-mail to info@thesecondchancefoundation.ca
