Upon release
Upon release from jail or prison, reintegration could be an uneasy next step. The Second Chance Foundation is here to help. Proof of institutional release is supported by a voucher to The Second Chance Foundation’s sustainable clothing store and beginning of economic independence for marginalized, racialized and disadvantaged women within and outside of the justice system. Helping to make a new start vouchers would vary according to need and family size.
Clothing, as well as household items could be available to individuals in the surrounding community who are in need due to lack of financial resources. Speak to our administration.
Additional care packages are available to recently released women to help with the new beginnings, however, may be limited availability and based on donations. Reach out to learn more or how to support The Second Chance Foundation’s care packages donation program.
Our capacity building programs, for women and children, and older adults and seniors, result in advancement of women awareness and access, barrier-free reach of counselling and accessible community services, as well as training and employment assistance, programs and workshops. The Second Chance Foundation prioritizes transition’s physical, social and financial dimensions to assure secure and safe livelihoods for people with diversity of needs.
Meals and additional care packages are put together and distributed annually to the homeless by the dedicated volunteer team. However, take away nutritious meals to-go are usually made available during Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
