Counselling services
The Second Chance Foundation aims to provide accessible counselling services to women in Scarborough, Toronto and GTA. We stand by the idea that barrier-free counselling should be accessible to marginalized, transitional, racialized, and formerly incarcerated women. Understanding difficulties experienced by these women in connection to their relations with their parole and probation officers and social judgement, as well as other challenges of reintegration into society.
At The Second Chance Foundation we work with women in Scarborough, Toronto and the GTA, to provide guidance to women on parole and probation to stabilize their lives.
Counselling and coaching is available as follows:
- One on one coaching
- In group empowerment sessions
- Referral to licensed counsellors (for adults and TSCF client’s family youth)
- Support group, giving you a voice and an opportunity to be heard
Options could include sessions with social workers, mental health workers, chaplains, volunteers, and peers. Alleviating issues in an aware, proactive and self-compassionate manner can be the step to a better, healthier, happier, productive and fulfilling future.
Counselling services could be a viable option for leaving an abusive partner; reintegration back into society from prison or half-way houses; seeking financial literacy or job skills; building effective relationships with family members and friends; developing coping skills and personal independence; grief counselling; reducing isolation and building a support network.
