Black History Month is every month
As a Black led, Women centered Organization, unaffected by the turmoil surrounding us as people of colour, it is important for us, the children of a darker hue, children of the earth, know who we are, and are confident of who we are each and every day, not just on Black History Month.
Jeremiah 29:10-14 states: I will be found by you and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you; And, I will bring you to the place from which I caused you to be carried away.
We are the ones who have learned through trial and error, despite our circumstances to fight for our freedom, equality, as we bring forth abundance. We are the ones through our ancestors, have the secret of the beginning and the end buried deep in our souls. With this in mind, I want to start off this month by offering a prayer to the children of our forefathers:
To the descendants of the Africans who have long to know themselves: Although the days of glory may appear to be over, the spiritual heritage is everlasting. You must know with all your heart – it doesn’t Have To B A Struggle!
May the Ancestors Bless you with a clear mind, a peace-filled heart and a powerful African spirit.
OBATALA! baba mi, A’dupe.
Egun Ye.
(Translation: The Father of Creation, My Father, I Salue you) Iyanla.
