Food bank
Established in 2020 The Second Chance Foundation is one of the Toronto food banks operating in the Scarborough area. Food bank is available all year round and can be accessed every week by registered clients.
“Our grassroots food bank has grown since inception on June of 2018 from 50 per week to 295 per week in 2024 of individuals served in our food bank; surpassing all expectations and growing.”, says Bev Dwyer, founder of The Second Chance Foundation.
We no longer since COVID, provide large community outings during Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas, however to-go packages are usually made available. Meals and additional care packages are put together and distributed annually to the homeless by the dedicated volunteer team. One time emergency food is provided to individuals and families who are in need.
